How to check historical quote prices.

How to view historical Ask and Bid pricing.

Sometimes you may find yourself in situations where, your buy limit has not been activated, or your sell position has been closed even though the price did not reach your Stop loss. At first sight, it may look like a liquidity problem or a technical issue however it is important to know that some orders are activated on an Ask price, not a Bid price and candlesticks do not allow the option to see historical prices of Ask quotes.

In the situation above, you can use this guide and check if the Ask price did reach your SL, TP, or Limit order.

First of all, please open and log in to your Platform 5. After that right-click anywhere in the Market Watch section and open the Symbols tab, or use the Ctrl + U shortcut.

Once the Symbols tab appears, go to the Ticks section.

Now you need to select:

1. Instrument

2. Time frame of the tick that you are looking for

1. Bid and Ask price is shown for each available time frame. If a box with a price is missing, the price from the previous time applies

2. When you are looking for multiple ticks over a longer period of time, you can all export them to a file where you can filter and make the search easier
